Remember that journal on 4-H some time ago? Well, last night was the final dinner/award ceremony for the 4-H year, and boy was it LONG. By now I've learned enough about life to almost always have at the very least paper and pen/pencil with me, and knowing how long it could take, I was well prepared. Although I do consider it rude to draw while someone else is talking, I suppose it less of an evil than talking constantly to my friends or falling asleep... I did get an award though- a plaque for the sketchbook thing I did for highest scoring or some such thing, I don't remember. (I really wonder if anyone else even did the sketchbook thing) But after all those awards, I have some to give myself.
The best moment award goes to the moment I finally got to see my design [link] on a hoodie, and was given said hoodie. (which I am now wearing. This is what, my 5th hoodie? I love these things.)
Most disapointing moment award goes to when I found out my leader didn't bring my projects or my record book, so I am still without them.
Most frustrating moment award goes to when I saw who was elected vice president of the Council, because she was president in one of the clubs I was in and I kid you not the WHOLE MEETING she was goofing off with her friend (who just happened to be the vice president) and not taking a thing seriously. :headdesk: I hope she has made some major changes since then.
Most awkward moment award goes to the very end when I went to thank the leader of the club I dropped out of and she said "Welcome back" or something. My first response normally would've been "Thank you, it's nice to be back" but then I thought "wait, does she mean back to the club? I'm not joining 4H again this year, so I'm not coming back. Or does she mean she's glad to see me because I came tonight? I'm not really enjoying the night, nor did I have all that much fun, so neither would be truthful. Or does she mean that she's glad because she thinks I'll be in the club again next year? In which case I have no intention of coming back." I really wonder what my face looked like at that moment, desperately searching for a good response. Fortunately for me, my dad was standing right there, so he rescued me by jumping in to say something appropriate but certainly non-committal. Thank you dad.
But enough of that. Here are a few more random things about my life for you to waste your time reading-
It snowed yesterday!
I have a new cousin! Mattai Eric, Tai for short, Mattai is the Greek version of Matthew.
Just as I was about to tell myself to stop doing any art outside of Keepers of the Peace and the collab I'm working on with
I'm "reading" the Silmarillion! I love Tolkien's writing style and how smooth and epic it all is, but I'm having trouble finding time to read it, it seems. Never thought I'd say that, but it's true. Anyways, hopefully sometime soon you'll be seeing some illustrations from it, since I have to do about 15 for a school project.
And we're probably going down to visit my dad's side of the family for Thanksgiving. They're an interesting lot. I have tons of fun with the one aunt and her friends that we stay with (I reeeaaally hope I'm like that couple when I'm their age!) but everyone else is... well, interesting. Not dull, to say the least.
I think that's it for now. I'm off to try to cut down all those deviations in my inbox, trim down those art projects on my list, and write a possible prologue to Whisper.
