The Last Time You Hear the Boogie Song

With this picture I have killed 6 birds with one stone.

Bird 1- Finding a design I like for this guy. This guy is Jacin Kaberrou, Willowtail's best spy/assassin/thief. Now I just need to work out his personality.

Bird 2- Deciding how to shade the background. Granted, it's messy, but it did the job. Background shading will be much better on the actual comic pages. And hopefully more clear. He's supposed to be standing on a table in some sort of meeting room, maybe a throne room.

Bird 3- Figured out how to letter the comic. I've been thinking about hand lettering it for a while, but I wasn't sure if I could get it to look right. Now I know how I'm going to do it.

Bird 4- Magic. They way I drew magic in the last few pages was way too time-consuming, and I wanted it to look more like how I draw magic in my sketchbook. Jacin's belt is most likely not going to be glowy, but it was the closest thing to magic in the picture without putting in a magician. If this were a comic page, Jacin would've been shaded so you could tell the magic is another light source, but that wasn't really the point of this picture so I didn't do it.

Bird 5- Blood. I think I'm happy with it.

Bird 6- Motion lines (yes, there is a tiny one beneath his hook). The method I've been using in the comic took too long. This may need some more tweaking, but I think I like it.

Yes, he should be pulling his sword out of a scabbard. Yes, the title is from Nightmare Before Christmas and was chosen because I've been listening to it a lot. And Jacin is about to kill someone (or make them wish he killed them), so the title's applicable that way too. Oh, and Jacin is an elf. His ears were cropped at some point so he could disguise himself more easily.
