I love the Lord, because He has heard
My voice and my supplications.
Because He has inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
Psalm 116: 1-2
God is so awesome, you guys. We don't even know the half of it. Just the fact that He chose to love us waaaaaay before we would, or even COULD, do anything even in return for Him. And even with all the crap we do anyways, He still loves us and cares about the most insignificant things happening to us. A lot of times I feel like asking God for help in finishing, say, something to do with comic is silly. I mean, God keeps the universe in order, for starters, and there are so many "bigger" things in my life and other people's, why would He care? Doesn't He have enough to think about as it is?
Haha, what a stupid thing to think about an all-knowing, all-present, all-powerful, all-loving God. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that He doesn't care about the little things. And if you think about it, you feel closest to people when they tell you about the little things, don't you? Don't you think God wants to know about those too? He wants to have a close relationship with us- that includes the little things.
That just goes to show how stupid we are as humans- who wouldn't want an intimate relationship with the One Who created and controls everything in existence? Yet if I'm far away from God, it's not His fault. He's always right there, ready to take me back as soon as I realize I'm wrong and repent. Because He's so awesome. I mean, He sent His only Son to die in our place because He loves us so much, and all we have to do to get eternal life with God is to believe the truth. To believe and acknowledge that without God we're nothing, that we can't do anything right. It's our fault the world is so messed up, you know- if we hadn't turned from God's way of doing things, things would be perfect, and we fully deserve to die and go to Hell for turning from Him. I mean, He is giving us the choice to live in perfection with Him, but we choose to do things our own way and go to Hell? Where's the point in that? A lifetime of pleasure in turn for eternal damnation? We need God, and the truly amazing thing is that He provided us such a simple way to Him. Jesus Christ- part of the Trinity, fully God and fully man- died for us, satisfying the penalty of our faults with His perfect sacrifice. And because Christ is God and has power over all things, He resurrected Himself. Like I said, all God requires is that we believe that happened- that it's truth, and it IS the truth- and He will give us more than we can imagine in return. How awesome is that? It's really, really awesome.
For You have delivered my soul from death,
My eyes from tears,
And my feet from falling.
I will walk before the Lord
In the land of the living.

Webcomic!
I have a new webcomic now, called broken! It's about a fairie general and his army struggling to protect their city-state after an alchemical anomaly brought eldritch monsters into their dimension. If you remember my character [no name] from AATR3, this is the story that spawned from him (no promises on how much resemblance there will be to AATR3 [no name]). There's going to be action, violence, horror, fantasy, magic, and all sorts of other fun stuff, and it's updated every Thursday over here on Smackjeeves. Also: preemptive warning that there will be flashing images at some point, as it is a gif comic.
I will hopefully get around to postin
Update, Kickstarter, and a Webcomic (and GW2)
Hey everyone, it’s been a while, huh? My life got a bit crazy there for a while (highlights include graduating college, getting a boyfriend, and starting my MFA), but I’m back now with more art coming soon. I really wish I had been able to finish my last round in Artists at the Ready 3, because I was having a ton of fun with my opponent's characters, but sadly it didn't work out.
SPEAKING OF AATR3 do you remember [no name]? Well, he has a story now! More specifically, a story that’s going to be a webcomic starting this summer (tentative start date: mid-June). In addition, I’m working on a related 10 page comic called
First Comic-Con!
I'm going to my first Comic-Con soon (the Denver one- just for fun, not selling anything yet) and I'm SO EXCITED. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether I want to go for one, two or three days because, like I said, this is my first one and I'm just going for fun, so I don't know what to expect. I'm totally open to suggestions.
Also, round 1 of AATR3 has been written/loose sketched and it's a whopping 48 pages. Granted, it's 48 black and white half-sized pages, but still. 48. And that's after cutting some stuff out. On the plus side, I know by now I go long with stories, so at least I chose an art style/method for AATR3 that's not too t
Dragon Persona Chat Time and Tumblr
I seem to have a tumblr now. Mostly for sketches & random reblogs.
If any of you have a tumblr, feel free to leave a link in the comments so I can check it out. :)
ALSO THE DRAGON PERSONA CONTEST IS ENDING SOON and we're having a judge/anyone chat time. I might be able to get on sometime late tonight, we'll see. Scratch that- my internet connection won't let me on. But the other judges are pretty awesome, so you should go chat with them if you can.
From the Journal Entry:
Arr, mateys! The contest deadline be fast approachin', but if you've already got your entries in and are looking for something awesome to do with your time, the are vo
